  • The Monstera, also called the Swiss Cheese Plant, is famous for its large, glossy, split leaves. It’s a bold, tropical houseplant that’s both beautiful and easy to care for with the right conditions.

    ☀️ Light:

    • Prefers bright, indirect sunlight.

    • Can tolerate medium light, but growth may slow down.

    • Avoid direct sun – it can burn the leaves.

    💧 Watering:

    • Water when the top 2–3 inches (5–8 cm) of soil feel dry.

    • Typically once every 1–2 weeks, depending on humidity and season.

    • Avoid soggy soil – overwatering can cause root rot.

    • Use a pot with drainage holes.

    🌡️ Temperature & Humidity:

    • Ideal temperature: 18°C to 30°C (65°F to 86°F).

    • Keep away from cold drafts or AC vents.

    • Monsteras love humidity – mist occasionally or use a humidifier.

    🌱 Soil & Fertilizer:

    • Use well-draining, rich potting mix (a mix with peat, perlite, and bark works well).

    • Fertilize once a month in spring and summer with a balanced houseplant fertilizer.

    • Reduce feeding in fall and winter.

    🪴 Support & Repotting:

    • Provide a moss pole or stake for support as it climbs.

    • Repot every 1–2 years or when roots start to outgrow the pot.

    ✂️ Pruning & Cleaning:

    • Prune dead or damaged leaves to promote healthy growth.

    • Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and improve shine.

    ⚠️ Pet Safety:

    • ⚠️ Toxic to pets (cats and dogs) if ingested – causes irritation.

    • Keep out of reach or place in pet-free zones.

    🌱 Propagation Tip:

    • Easy to propagate in water using a stem cutting with an aerial root.

    • Roots will grow in 2–4 weeks and can be potted in soil afterward.

Pro Tip: Yellowing leaves? Usually a sign of overwatering. Brown crispy edges? Possibly too little humidity or light.
